A befitting physical frame, dexterous on the feet, mercurial mobility, expressions that tug at the corners of heart are those that set apart as a true artist from among galaxy of dancers. Surya is an inexhaustible package of all that is expected of a performing artist who can draw the attention of art connoisseurs. He boldly stepped into the arena of dance after an intense and rigorous training in the dance form of Bharatanatyam by Guru Chandrashekar Navada.

Teaching Experience

In his sojourn he also trained in Kuchipudi by Guru Smt Veena Murthy Vijay, Kathak by Guru Dr. Maya Rao, Contemporary by Madhu Nataraj and Yakshagana. His furtherance in acquiring skills in the martial arts of India kalaripayattu and Thang-tha, folk-ritual-traditional dance forms has added to his flexibility and adaptability to the rich Indian dance heritage.

Upgrading himself from the traditional training under the Guru Kula system, he has obtained Bachelors degree in Choreography. Apart from qualifying “Vidhwath” in Bharathnatyam he is a graded artist of the Doordarshan, Indian National Television channel. His accomplishment in “Natuvangam”, playing Morsingh and singing Indian classical music has embellished his artistry.
Apart from showcasing his talent as a solo artist, he had choreographed many dance ballets like Dasyapanodhanam, Shringara Naradeeyam, Bagavadajjukeeyam, are some of the Sanskrit ballets, “Tani” and “In search” are his contemporary works,
